Jesus....
He Is More Than A Story

I think Jesus is the most misunderstood person in history. Who's fault is that? The church. Me. Other Christians. Hypocrites. Judges. I am writing today to tell you about the God that loves us.
Did you know that he hated religion? Did you know he loved the sinners? How about that He loved the unloved. He healed the sick.
Or that He reached out to women. He healed a women with a incurable disease. He saved the life of a woman framed for adultry. He validated and appreciated the heart of the woman that annointed Him with her life savings in perfume. He loved children. He loved me- a stubborn, hurting little girl that hated Him. He forgave my sin - of thinking He had abondoned me too. The sin that my way would be best...the way without Him.   The audio below is a favorite song of mine because it depicts my life very well.   "Everything to Me" by Avalon...more than a story...

Nicole C. Mullen, a singer/songwriter writes : "He runs to the weary, the worn and he weak and the same gentle hands that hold me when I am broken conquered death to bring me victory. I know my Redemmber lives...."  In the YouTube video below, Nicole C. Mullen sings, "One Touch."   "He reached way down and touched me... when no one else would touch me... It is an extremely powerful video explaining the power of Jesus' love and healing.

That is why I want His words to be more than a story, more than history... HIS story must be told through my life.

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-Romans 5:8

THIS IS A PREVIOUSLY SUBMITTED ASSIGNMENT
My Mother’s Artifacts:

A Few of My Favorite Things….

As the only living family member alive, it is my responsibility to share this tribute of my mother. I wanted to show my family why Mom did the things she did. I wanted them to understand the pain of separation and the things that she used to fill the voids in her life. I wanted to evoke understanding, awe, and compassion for an incredible woman.

I imagined each stage of her life in a ‘store front’ image – a collection of treasures from that period in her life. I wanted to take all of that and make it meaningful…not just rings and pictures in a box. – Something living.

I tried to use symbolism: The rings were meant to symbolize her unending love. The pink ribbon was a symbol of my mother’s undying love for her first baby girl.

I feel that the music choices reinforced my themes: I thought "My Favorite Things" complimented the video. "Separate Worlds" by Journey’s lyrics really heightened my mother’s desperation and loss. I timed it so when I showed her parent’s divorce, these lyrics were heard:

Troubled times
Caught between confusions and pain, pain, pain
Distant eyes
Promises we made were in vain, vain, vain

Then, when she gave her baby up for adoption, these lyrics were synced:

If you must go, I wish you love
You'll never walk alone
Take care my love
Miss you love

However, my mother probably would have liked "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole.
